The Wireless Institute of Australia is the World's first and oldest National Radio Society, being founded in 1910. The Wireless Institute of Australia is a member of the International Amateur Radio Union and represents all Amateur Radio Operators in Australia to the various government bodies in this country.
The West Australian Repeater Group Inc (WARG) is the largest amateur radio club in Western Australia (VK6).
WARG is an incorporated, not-for-profit group which provides and maintains a network of digital and voice radio repeaters serving the amateur radio community. The club hosts a high frequency (HF) propagation beacon and VHF morse code (CW) practice beacon. WARG also explores and experiments with modern technologies such as voice over internet protocol (VOIP) linking of repeaters through systems such as IRLP, EchoLink and WiRES.
